Aires continues its prolific release schedule with a number of recent
releases in 1/48 scales.
Casting quality of all four sets is perfect.
Aires 4403 - MB GRU EA7 (A-6E/EA-6A) Ejection Seats
These are attractive a well-detailed replacements for the kit seats in the Revell A-6 kits. The basic setas and cushions are supplied in one piece each, while harness details are offered on a photo-etched fret.
Two seats are included.
Aires 4406 - Focke-Wulf Ta 152H-1 Cockpit
This is a beautifully detailed cockpit to replace the front office in Dragon's 1/48 scale Ta 152 H kit. The main tub and side consoles are cast in a single part. In fact, even the control column is cast in place - very tricky. The other two parts are the instrument coaming and seat.
The separate photo-etched fret includes harness straps, the instrument panel itself and some smaller details. Instrument dials are printed onto clear acetate sheet.
This is a lovely upgrade that will really make a difference to this late-war high altitude fighter.
Aires 4407 - MiG-17F Fresco C Cockpit
This cockpit for Hobby Boss' 1/48 scale Fresco C follows the same principals of recent Aires releases - a minimum number of parts for the maximum detail.
Once again we have just three parts in grey resin - a cleverly undercut and beautifully detailed tub, a seat and instrument panel base. The photo-etched fret includes harness straps and the instrument panel itself, with the familiar acetate sheet also present here for the dials.
Another little ripper.
Aires 4408 - SAAB J35F/J Draken Gun Bay
This is a simple but effective way to personalise your Hasegawa Draken kit in 1/48 scale.
Just three resin parts deliver this open gun bay. Although assembly of the resin will be easy enough, some experience and confidence will be required for the surgery to the kit parts, opening the fuselage to display the parts.
Thanks to Aires for the review samples
