  • Volker Vahle, long time Project Manager for Revell Germany, will be retiring at the end of this month. Volker has been a great friend of modelling - a professional and an ethusiast who has delivered many great kits into the hands of modellers over the decades. Volker has always had a great knack for picking popular subjects and reaching out to some of the most prominent experts in the field for research and development. One of the highlights of my visits to ScaleModelworld at Telford was the chance to chat with Volker. Even on the busy Revell stand, he was always happy to share his views and fill everyone in with news of future releases. I am sure you will all join me in wishing Volker a very long and happy retirement!

  • Tonight I review Xtradecal's 1/72 scale Northrop F-5 Tiger II Worldwide Collection Pt.2, which covers a whopping 14 subjects! Eight images of the cover, the instructions and the decal sheet are included.

  • We have Preview images and information on the next 1/72 scale releases from Sword - two Furies and a Demon.

  • We have an article on the Hobby Bounties COVID-19 Phabulous Phantoms Group Build, which includes 37 images of the models and some of the contestants!

  • In today's HyperScale Video Workshop I unbox Tamiya's brand new 1/48 scale F-4B Phantom II. You can see my 14 minute unboxing video here, or click the link at the bottom of the screen to view it larger on YouTube. I bought this from Lucky Model:

  • BTW, Tolga Ulgur's Hasegawa TF-104G Starfighter yesterday was 1/48 scale, not 1/32.

  • John Miller reviews G.W.H.'s 1/144 scale Messerschmitt Me 323 D-1 Gigant. It is a big model even in this relatively small scale. 19 images of the kit's plastic parts, decals, marking guide and box top.

  • In today's HyperScale Video Workshop I unbox Tamiya's brand new 1/35 scale Sd.Kfz. 2 Kettenkraftrad. You can see my eight minute unboxing video here, or click the link at the bottom of the screen to view it larger on YouTube. Please note there are three figures in the kit, not four:

  • The 48ers is offering  20% off all Eduard kits until Sunday, June 20 at midnight (PST).

  • Also for Revell's 1/32 scale Spitfire Mk.IXc, we have a review of BarracudaCast's Spitfire Mk. IX Wing Correction Set. Six images of the resin parts plus comparisons with the kit parts are included.

  • Roland Sachsenhofer presents a new Feature Article on his Fine Molds 1/72 scale Fuji T-1A. 23 images of the model in progress and complete are included.

  • Valiant Wings Publishing has announced that second edition of Airframe Album No 1 - The Heinkel He 219 will increase to 144 pages including extra walkaround pictures, new and redrawn 3D isometric images as well as two kit builds as well as other information that has come to light-essentially a new book. There's no increase to the cover price and the preorder offer remains in place. Publication scheduled for early July
